Computer Repair/Service Agreement
We shall only carry out repairs on your device as requested by the customer.
The length of time it takes to carry out repairs cannot always be determined but we will always advise of an average wait time.
You understand there is always potential for data loss. We take extreme care to protect your data but strongly advise that a data backup is performed regularly to avoid loss. The Computer Shop will not be responsible for any loss of data whatsoever.
You authorise the technicians providing the service or repair to install anti-virus and any other necessary software on your device to deliver the agreed service/repair.
Data copied from device to device is not guaranteed to be successful and is dependent on the machine, hard drive devices and software to not to be corrupt, damaged or failing. No programs will be copied from device to device as this is in breach of Data Protection Law.
Uncollected Devices
Any computer that has been left abandoned or uncollected for over 3 months will be recycled or disposed of if prior arrangements have not been made. It is important that you check your details on your receipt at the time of booking to ensure that we have your correct contact details. We will not be held responsible for any inaccuracies in the details provided.
Billing agreement
We will either give you a cost upfront or the device will need a diagnosis prior to the cost being given. No work will be commenced before the cost is agreed by the customer.
If the customer cannot be reached work will cease until contact can be established.
Payment terms
Full payment is due on completion of services, upgrades, repairs or sales.
Computer parts, hardware or bespoke builds may require upfront payment or deposit.
We accept cash, credit & debit cards.
Liability
Services are provided to repair, fix, upgrade and make good a device. Your devices will not be intentionally harmed and always treated with the utmost respect and care.
The Computer Shop cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your system or data loss caused by pre-existing problems on the device. You agree not to hold The Computer Shop liable for any loss or damages resulting from this scenario.
The responsibility to back-up data is the customers.
Warranty
All of our work is warranted. Third party interference during the warranty period could void the warranty and any further repair may incur charges.
Fair Treatment
We pride ourselves in delivering a first class service with excellent customer relations and ask that you treat us with the same respect. We will not tolerate any form of abuse towards our staff.
Re-formatting
Installing a new operating system effectively returns your device to factory settings. Only customer data will be copied onto the new operating system when requested. Customers must ensure they remember their passwords and programme files and install them again. We do not deal with Emails.
PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY REPAIRS TO HINGES OR PLASTIC WELDING ON LAPTOPS.
These are general wear and tear items and can damage easily even following repair. These repairs are carried out at your own risk and you will be notified of this prior to repair.
